Kućh Ḵẖẉāb Kiṣṣe Kahānīyāṅ
Kućh Zehaanat, Sabaq, Nadānīyāṅ
Some aspirations, experiences, stories
Some wisdom, lessons, inanities
Kahīṅ kārwān sawāloṅ ka
Kahīṅ talāsh kahkashān-e-jawāb
Somewhere gush forth, a multitude of questions
And somewhere a search in the galaxy of answers
Kućh ḵẖaṭṭ kitāboṅ meṅ ćhupe
Kućh bikhre ḥarf zabān pe ruke
Some epistles, in books, lay hidden
Some scattered alphabets at the threshold of expression
Kabhī imtěhān-e-ṣabr
Kabhī měḥerbāṅ hai abr
Sometimes on a gruesome trial hangs patience
Sometimes, an uninhibited shower of compassion
Kahīṅ hujūm-e-qadardān
Kahīṅ kućh qātil zubāṅ
Somewhere a crowd of admirers surround
Somewhere brutal critiques denounce
Kahīṅ deedaar-e-'Arsh'
Kahīṅ ālam-e-kashmakash
Sometimes vision of the sky, behold
Sometimes a state of struggle, unfolds
Kahīṅ fiqr-e-duniyā rāh-e-zulmat
Kahīṅ paiģām-e-rāhat dāman-e-rehmat
Somewhere the worries of the world, a path so drear
Somewhere comforting messages, an aura of mercy appears
Kahin muddatoṅ ki thakān
Kahīn ḥauṣloṅ ki uṛān
Somewhere long drawn fatigue fights
Somewhere courage takes flight
Kabhi be-fiqr be-parvāh be-ḥadd āzād
Kabhi gamoṅ kī girift meṅ yeh dil-e-nāshād
Sometimes carefree, care-less, unfettered, liberated
Sometimes grief-stricken, this heart, disillusioned and disappointed
Kabhi siyāh tanhā ṯawīl aur khāmosh rāt
Kabhi jashn-e-marasim aur ziyā-afroz-e-hayāt
Sometimes the dark, lonely, long and silent night
Sometimes celebration of relationships, a life blossoming and sparkling bright
Kabhī ẕěhn pāband-e-qafas
Kabhī soch tarannum-e-nafas
Sometimes mind is caged and bound
Sometimes thoughts become a song - It's the soul’s sound
Kabhī ḵẖud se milne ki chāhat
Kabhī gumshudā phirne ki ādat
At times yearning to meet the Self
At times to wander lost, habit impels
Kućh Ḵẖẉāb Qiṣṣe Kahānīyāṅ
Kućh Zehaanat, Sabaq, Nadānīyāṅ
Some aspirations, experiences, stories
Some wisdom, lessons, inanities
Kućh is tarah basar hui Zindagī
Bānti, banī, kabhi bīgadī, badhī Zindagī
Somehere amidst all this Life takes form,
Shared, nurtured, at times even neglected, it grows and flows into its fullness
